Location
Aman Kyoto is situated in a secluded garden near the centre of Kyoto in the district of Takagamine. By car, it is one hour from Osaka International Airport and 30 minutes from Kyoto Station.
About This Hotel
An ode to Japanese architecture and mindful living, Aman Kyoto is tranquil retreat nestled in a garden at the foot of the Mountain of Hidari Daimonji.
Home to canopies of maple, cedar, and camphor trees, winding paths, blankets of moss, and evergreen shrubs, the forest surrounding Aman Kyoto is nothing short of spectacular. Designed by landscape architect Professor Shimoda, the garden at Aman Kyoto connects people to nature in the same way that Japanese gardens were traditionally connected to the spiritual world.
You can also enjoy the mineral-rich onsen hot springs, mindfulness programs, shiatsu massages, and a range of natural treatments that incorporate Japanese practices and local ingredients.
The peaceful and quintessentially Japanese atmosphere continues in the accommodations. The hotel's two latticed pavilions are inspired by the minimalist Ryokan Inn with spacious and light-filled interiors that encourage relaxation and contemplation. Guest rooms feature natural wood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, tatami flooring, a "Tokonoma" alcover, and a Hinoki Japanese bath.
